The Best Ohio State Parks for Engagement Photos

Because nothing says “we’re getting married” like aggressively cute forest photos and dramatic rock ledges.

So you're engaged. Cue the happy tears, champagne, and 47 Pinterest boards. Now it’s time to take some killer engagement photos—because nothing solidifies your love like gazing longingly at each other under a waterfall while pretending you don’t have bugs in your hair.

Lucky for you, Ohio’s state parks absolutely deliver on the epic photo backdrops. Whether you're all about dreamy woodland vibes, glowy lakefront sunsets, or rugged Insta-worthy cliffs, there's a spot for your style.

As nature lovers themselves the owners of Century Farms, Mike and Kerri, have traveled and hiked in several of our beautiful Ohio State Parks. Here are some of our favorite Ohio state parks that are basically just one big engagement photo shoot waiting to happen—and yes, they all pair beautifully with a wedding at Century Farms. (Just saying.)

On our way back to the car we ran into a large group of high school kids taking Prom Photos. We weren’t subtle with our photo bombing skills.

📍 Hocking Hills State Park

Vibe: Moody forests, waterfalls, dramatic cliffs, and those mysterious mossy stone walls that make you look like you live in a fairy tale.
Why We Love It: Because where else in Ohio can you smooch next to a 100-foot waterfall and still be home for dinner? Just outside of the state park boundries you can find our favorite spot “Conkles Hollow”. One of the best scenic spots with gorgeous views. Be prepared to hike with this one so pack really good shoes.

📍 Cuyahoga Valley National Park

Vibe: Rolling hills, rustic barns, train tracks, and that classic golden-hour glow that makes everyone look airbrushed.
Why We Love It: Just a short drive from Akron or Cleveland, but it feels like you’re starring in your own romantic drama. Plus there is Brandywine Falls (hello, drama). Mike and Kerri had their third date here and also photobombed some Prom kids. Clearly it was an epic date.

Mike and Kerri got engaged in Mohican State Park October of 2016!

📍 Geneva State Park

Vibe: Lakefront love without the airport lines.
Why We Love It: You’ll look like you eloped somewhere coastal—without leaving Ohio.

📍 Salt Fork State Park

Vibe: Lakeside romance with a touch of cozy camp nostalgia.
Why We Love It: It’s under an hour from Century Farms, so it’s the perfect pre-wedding shoot location—and your save-the-dates will look chef’s kiss.

📍 Mohican State Park

Vibe: Woodsy and adventurous. For couples who hike, paddle, or just want to look like they do.
Why We Love It: Rustic bridges, tall trees, and just enough grit to feel cool. And then there’s the fact that Mike proposed to Kerri in Mohican State Park in front of a trickling waterfall, she said yes obvi. 🥰

📍 Quail Hollow State Park

Vibe: Regal and refined without trying too hard.
Why We Love It: The stone manor house, garden paths, and wrought iron gates are so engagement shoot goals.

📍 Beaver Creek State Park

Vibe: Lush, green, and kind of magical.
Why We Love It: Hidden gem alert! Old mills, stone bridges, and totally underrated charm.
